Rumors out of Olivet have been stirring around the media about a total gutting of the franchise, leaving no player safe from being dealt. If some of the stories that have leaked are true there could be three big names leaving the cold confines of Olivet. Nothing has been confirmed at this point but local sources say that the front office has been extremely aggressive this offseason. (GM) Larry Baker has been adimant about building for the future in this years draft, and has also stated that he'll overpay if necessary to rebuild the mess which was started last season with some questionable signings. "We knew as soon as the last pitch was thrown in 2010 that we had to go in a different direction for 2011." Baker explained while sitting in his hot tub surrounded by snow. "Sometimes you can't look back, just move on and learn from the mistakes you have made"
It will be interesting to see what the Eagles have been doing these last couple of weeks, the winter meetings aren't too far over the horizon so it will be shown soon enough...

Shake Up in the Great Lakes Division? / Olivet Trade Block
Fresh off the news that Lance Berkman would be dealt out of Gaylord, another tidbit has leaked and it appears Andre Ethier could be the next G.L. outfielder dealt once the Winter Meetings begin. Ethier spent only a couple months with the Eagles after coming over in a deal with "Big Brother" before the trading deadline.
Another name that keeps surfacing on the rumor mill is Billy Butler however this is all speculation since GM Baker has kept things close to the vest this offseason.
What the front office HAS said however is the availability of Francisco Liriano, Edwin Jackson, and JA Happ. The team looks to clear up one of the 2yr contracts these three starting pitchers currently hold. Draft compensation appears to be what Olivet is looking for in return.
The Great Lakes Division looks to be gunning towards another compelling season; hopefully shedding the tag of the Worst Division in eMLB
The addition of Chris Broskey could liven things up due to past league activities but one has to beg the question, where is he??
